Stoves & Boiler Stoves
A wood burning stove with back boiler is a stove that provides heat not only into the room, but hot water to run one or more radiators as well. In some instances wood burning stoves with back boilers are used to provide hot water for other use as well. Stoves fueled by wood pellet work in much the same way.
Wood burning stoves are particularly suitable if you are off the gas network as the cost of logs and pellet, especially if sourced locally, will be significantly more economical than oil or LPG. It is also an advantage to have an existing chimney that that can be lined or an external wall through which a flue can exit as this will limit the amount of building work required and keep the cost of the installation to a minimum. It is beneficial to have an existing cylinder, thermal store or space for one as this will improve the efficiency of your heating system and enable a number of different heating appliances to be linked together.
